Saint Denis School Primary and Middle School are both “Cambridge International Schools”.
Being a part of the Cambridge Education network gives added value and new experiences for both the teaching staff and the students.
Teachers have the opportunity to take advantage of an international training platform and a broad spectrum of school material, exchange of information with other schools in the network around the world and access an international assessment system, which is useful for verifying the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired by pupils.
The dialogue and reciprocal exchange between teachers of the Cambridge Network is also an element of great positivity, enrichment and collaboration.
Pupils in the Preschool section will be involved in preparatory educational activities leading up to the start of the Cambridge Primary program.
Primary School pupils will continue to take Cambridge exams:
- STARTERS exam (Grade 3),
- MOVERS exam (Grade 4),
- FLYERS exam o, alternatively, KET for Schools exam (Grade 5).
- PET exam (first year of middle school)
- FIRST exam (third year of middle school)
Furthermore, the students take the progression tests and the end-of-school Checkpoints proposed by Cambridge International. The Cambridge assessment system has two levels: the first during the school year (Cambridge Progression Tests), the second at the end of the Primary School cycle (Cambridge Checkpoint), aimed at evaluating and certifying the levels of skills acquired by the pupils.
Students will therefore have the opportunity to obtain a double certification for their acquired learning (Italian Ministry of Education certificate and University of Cambridge Assessment certificate).
All educational programming based on the outlines presented by the Italian Ministry of Education will be done in conjunction with the syllabi proposed by Cambridge assessment, which cover the following subjects:
