Continuity in learning between Nursery and Primary School

Saint Denis School believes in a continual learning program from the beginning of the nursery school through to the end of the primary school. To this end, Nursery School teachers dynamically structure their lessons based on the ‘experience areas’ that will later be continued in the students’ primary school education.

During the academic year of preschool, in fact, a particular emphasis is placed on encouraging curiosity and openness to learning.

The lessons, methods and tools of observation used by the nursery school teachers are then shared with the primary school teachers, where the former will fill in the latter on specific learning objectives for each student, and work together to offer recreational and educational activities for all.

Pre-school and Grade One Primary students will get the chance to work together during activities linked to various national and religious holidays. They will also experience ‘open lessons’, where children of different ages will get the chance to sit and work on an activity together, giving the older students a chance to act as ‘tutors’.

This continuity project inclues the Nursery, Primary and Middle schools.
